Viral video: Candidate caught lip-syncing during online interview

It’s the kind of day when an old viral video resurfaces, this one from 2017.

This viral video shows a candidate showing up for an online interview. The candidate is filmed lip-syncing with another person (not on screen) who is answering a question posed by the interviewer on his behalf.

Watch the video for yourself:

“So, did you work on triggers in your experience?” the interviewer asks.

The candidate seen on the screen responds with a “Yes” and begins to lip-synch.

It is easy to notice because the candidate’s lips do not move, but we hear the answer. The interviewer also notices this very early and calls out to the candidate. First we hear a smirk, then the interviewer interrupts and says, “Wait, wait.”

“I think it’s not you who is speaking, I mean… someone is speaking here… someone else is speaking here and you are just lip-syncing. I can also hear your voice, the voice of the candidate who is sitting right in front of me. I doubt you, I mean…”, the interviewer said with a calm demeanor.

The interviewer goes on to say, “That’s not the way to do it, man. I caught you, I definitely caught you, you know. The other guy’s talking and you’re talking really low, lip-syncing. Okay. I’m sorry about that.”

What do you think? How widespread is this problem?
