JT Announces Release Date for Debut Solo Project “City Cinderella”

On Tuesday (July 2), JT has announced the release date for his debut solo project. The 16-track mixtape, Cinderella’s Townwill be released on Friday (July 19).

This news comes almost a month after the City Girls have publicly announced their separation. Young Miami confirmed this in an interview with Complex while addressing the poor commercial reception of the duo’s latest album, RAW“I think when the City Girls album came out, it didn’t do very well and we were just trying to promote ourselves. You know, the whole album launch was so bad because we were in two different spaces,” she told the outlet. “We’re older now and she was doing her own thing on the West Coast, I’m in Miami doing mine. And I felt like naturally, when she’s doing her own thing, it works for her. And when I’m doing my own thing, it works for me.”

The CFWM rapper continued, “But when we got together as a group, it just didn’t click, it didn’t work. I think we both got to a point where we were like, we should probably do our own thing. That was the goal for me.”

JT’s latest single, “OKAY,” secured JT his first solo number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at No. 74. Damn it I also jumped on the remix.
