Watch Chicago Police Arrest Suspect in Stabbing

Body camera footage captured a frantic scene of Chicago police stopping a knife-wielding man from stabbing another individual on the city’s West Side in May.

The incident happened on May 27, when two Chicago police officers in Austin were stopped after a man attacked another person on the street, according to the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA). The officers ordered him to drop his knife, but the suspect did not comply.

That’s when officers opened fire, hitting both the suspect and the victim. Both men were rushed to the hospital, where the suspect was pronounced dead. The victim remains in critical condition, according to COPA.

The shooting is under investigation.
