Ironically, the cancellation of NCIS: Hawaii is an exciting new beginning for the entire franchise.

The sudden cancellation of NCIS: Hawaii earlier this year caused a huge scandal, leaving fans of the show with no choice but to criticize CBS for abandoning one of its most successful series. But months later, the network’s bizarre decision actually seems to be a blessing in disguise.

Make no mistake, NCIS: Hawai’i ending with a major cliffhanger that will never be explained is still a shame that fans of the franchise will remind CBS of for months, if not years. However, the abandoned series now feels like one of the final steps toward the end of the stale NCIS era, which will soon be followed by a radically new one.
