‘Jeopardy!’ Executive Producer Breaks Silence on Mayim Bialik’s Departure

Danger! Executive producer Michael Davies shed some light on The Big Bang TheoryIt’s Mayim Bialik’s departure from the beloved game show.

Bialik, who began hosting the game show in 2021, announced that she had been informed that she would no longer be hosting in December 2023. Ken Jennings will now become the sole host of Danger!.

Speaking about the decision, Davies described Bialik as an “exceptional host” but said a need for “more consistency” was behind her dismissal.

“When I took over the show, we were really forced into this situation because of everything that had happened before, the guest-hosting period,” Davies said during the “Unscripted Storytellers” panel at the Television Critics Association’s 2024 winter press tour (via People).

“Mayim had to stay on the air to host the primetime versions; I brought Ken in to host the show once Mayim got her schedule for her sitcom on Fox.”

“Over the last two and a half seasons, we’ve heard from a lot of TV networks and other stakeholders that they want more consistency,” Davies said. “They want one presenter.”

Despite Bialik’s departure, Davies is still hopeful that she can return to the series in some capacity in the future.

“Mayim is a superb presenter,” he added. “We look forward to continuing to work with her on primetime versions and other spin-offs.”

“Those conversations are ongoing, but Ken really won the job,” Davies later said of Jennings.
