Meet the Twisters Tornado Guardians in the Behind-the-Scenes Trailer

Universal Pictures has released a new behind-the-scenes trailer for Tornadoeswhich introduces us to the tornado keepers in the eye of the cyclones that fly around director Lee Isaac Chung in the sequel to Jan De Bont’s 1996 blockbuster Tornado.

Tornadoes Daisy Edgar-Jones stars as Kate, a former storm chaser who now spends her days studying weather conditions from the safety of her screen. She crosses paths with Tyler (Glen Powell), the storm-chasing social media superstar, as they become trapped in the converging paths of several terrifying storm systems. Watch the video below…

Twisters is a current chapter of the 1996 blockbuster Twister. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Academy Award®-nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing, Normal People) and Glen Powell (Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick) as opposing forces who come together to predict, and eventually tame, the immense power of tornadoes.

Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating tornado during her college years. Now studying storm patterns on screens from the safety of New York City, she’s lured to the plains by her friend Javi (Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos for In the Heights) to test a revolutionary new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social media superstar who loves to post about his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better.

As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves directly in the path of multiple storm systems converging on central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.

Twisters hits theaters July 19.
