Alligator Caught Roaming West Palm Beach Neighborhood: Instant Surprise Next Door

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A West Palm Beach resident woke up to an unusual sight: a large alligator wandering through a community early Thursday morning.

The West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD) received a call from the resident and contacted the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) for assistance.

The FWC quickly dispatched a trapper to the scene. Photos taken show the FWC officer struggling to subdue the large alligator just yards from a home.

Eventually, the alligator was captured. WPBPD said it would be relocated to an alligator farm in Arcadia.
