Rob LoweThe series’ Captain Owen Strand turns up the heat – and ups the fear factor – in the first look at Season 5 of 9-1-1: Lone Star.

“This fall on Fox, the epic new season of 9-1-1: Lone Star will be… off the rails,” a narrator teases in the first trailer for the upcoming season, which has been published on Tuesday July 2.

In the clip, Captain Strand reveals that 126 is “first on the scene” as glimpses of a train crashing and sliding off the tracks flash across the screen.

“Evacuate the area!” » Marjan Marwani (Natacha Karam) shouts, pointing to what appear to be tanks of gasoline or fuel accelerants near the crash site.

TK Beach (Ronen Rubinstein) and Mateo Chavez (Julien’s works) are seen running from the rubble when an explosion throws a firefighter into the air. Their identities are unknown.

“We have a problem,” Owen said over the radio, implying that the train incident might be worse than they initially thought.

The teaser ends with Owen swearing, “This is not the end, this is just the first act.”

The captain’s message has added impact as rumors swirl that Season 5 could be the last for 9-1-1: The Lone Star. (According to the new teaser, seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Hulu.)

In May 2023, Fox renewed the series for a fifth season, but further decisions regarding the series’ future have yet to be made, according to Fox Entertainment’s CEO. Rob Wade.

Lone Star “It wasn’t planned for this year because of the strike, and we’re really looking forward to getting it back in the fall,” Wade said. Deadline earlier this year, referring to production delays due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023.

Wade insisted his team was “excited about the new season,” but explained that the show’s renewal would depend on how Season 5 performs. “We’ll see how it goes as usual and then make decisions about that as it relates to the future of this franchise,” he added.

A month later, Robyn Livelywho plays recurring character Marlene Harris, added fuel to the cancellation speculation in a since-deleted Instagram post.

“So happy to be a part of the final season of @911lonestar!! What a ride it’s been!” she wrote in early June.

News then broke that an original cast member Sierra McClain will not return for Season 5. McClain, 30, plays firefighter Judd Ryder (Jim Parrack) his wife, Grace Ryder, on the show. According to DeadlineMcClain left the drama after casting renegotiation issues.

Raphael Silvawho plays TK’s husband, Officer Carlos Reyes, attempted to allay fans’ fears about the cancellation via social media in June.

“Wherever the ship sails, I am grateful for the family I have created on this show,” Silva, 29, wrote via his Instagram Story.

Rubinstein, 30, also expressed optimism about the show’s future, explaining in an Instagram story: “Nowhere in this article was there any mention of a certain fate for our show.”

He added: “But one thing is for sure, we’re going to continue to pour our blood, sweat and tears into these final episodes and bring you our most special season yet. I better see you all in September.”

An official premiere date for 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 has not been announced, but it is expected to return to Fox this fall.
