Meet the Clorox Lead Scientist Revolutionizing Products and Championing STEM Education

Published an hour ago

Proposed by The Clorox Company

Get to know Dilpreet Kaur, Senior Scientist at Clorox.

When she started working in this field, her workplace expectations were not yet fully met. “As a scientist, I always thought I wanted to do research, and I tried the academic route, but it seemed a bit slow,” she says.

With launch times ranging from three to 24 months, Dilpreet thought consumer goods might be a better solution.

“My friends, family, and the doctors I see use our products,” she says. “So when I think about the work I do to improve Clorox wipes, I think about how many people benefit from it. Whether it’s spending less time cleaning and more time with their kids, or making sure their patients are safe in that hospital room… yes, our work matters.”

Her passion for science is evident within her team and community. “I love that we can make science accessible,” she says. “I volunteer at Clorox and outside of Clorox on STEM initiatives, making sure people have access to science, technology, engineering and math. And I think we need to get out of the old routine of having one picture of what engineers look like, because engineers look like me too.”
