Curious bear climbs car in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, NC (WBTV) – On June 14, Joe, a Nextbase iQ dash cam owner, woke up to a curious…and rather hairy visitor checking out his car.

During a two-month road trip, Joe stopped at his cousin’s house in Asheville for the night. Around 9 a.m., a dash cam notification led him to discover a large male black bear climbing on top of his car, presumably trying to get the snacks stashed inside.

“The last thing I expected that morning was a black bear on the roof of my car,” Joe said.

At that moment, Joe said he was more concerned about explaining the damage to his car to his insurance agent until he realized that his dash cam footage and the pictures he took from the garage window would be perfect evidence for insurance.

Joe greatly enjoyed sharing the Nextbase footage of the bear on social media and seeing the reactions he received. He takes this event as a symbol for a great, or at least exciting, road trip ahead.
