Madison County Fire Rescue’s 11th Annual Firefighter Freedom Festival is Thursday!

Held at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport, gates will open at 4 p.m. and the ceremony will begin at 5 p.m.

There will be kiddie rides, special events and plenty of food with 18 food vendors. Options range from candied apples to tacos to barbecue.

Madison County Fire Department Fire Inspector Brian Kemp tells us what to expect.

“The Kimberlie Helton band will be there. They’re the headline act this year and they’ll be there to put on a great show for us tomorrow. There will be a couple of other bands playing with them at different times, so yeah, there will be live music all night and good entertainment, good family time,” Kemp said.

A spectacular fireworks display will also be on the program at nightfall. Rain or shine, the show is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.
