Staten Island Ferry to temporarily cease service Thursday evening

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Staten Island Ferry will stop operating for two and a half hours Thursday night to accommodate the 48th annual Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks show.

According to the official Staten Island Ferry website, services will be suspended between 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Until 4:00 p.m., the ferry service is scheduled every 30 minutes. From 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the ferry service will be scheduled every 20 minutes.

From 10pm, 30-minute services will resume to Whitehall Terminal and St. George Terminal.

According to the MTA, subways, buses and the Staten Island Rail Road will operate on Saturday schedules.
