Marblehead fireworks canceled after barge fire - Boston News, Weather, Sports

MARBLEHEAD, MASS. (WHDH) – A fireworks barge caught fire in Marblehead Harbor overnight, forcing the town to cancel its Fourth of July fireworks show.

Crews from Marblehead, Beverly and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the scene Thursday morning.

Organizers said the fire department was investigating and would not allow any fireworks until they found out how the barge caught fire.

We regret to announce that the 2024 Marblehead Fireworks are cancelled.
There was a fire on the barge in the middle of the night. The fire department is investigating. The fire department will not allow our supplier to use fireworks until it is determined how the fire occurred.
