Peru and Ecuador: Presidents to meet for binational council of ministers

The presidents will hold a meeting at the palace, and at the same time the binational cabinet will meet, and in the afternoon the meeting will be closed with speeches by the two presidents.

On Thursday, the presidents of Peru, Dina Boluarte, and Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, will celebrate a day of dialogue and agreement on integration and border cooperation, within the framework of the XV Binational Cabinet, a mechanism established in 2007.

The neighboring leader arrived last night at the air base adjacent to Lima’s airport where he was received by the host country’s Foreign Minister, Javier González-Olaechea, and after spending the night in Lima, he will attend the inauguration of the meeting with the president at the Government Palace.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agenda covers priority issues such as development and social inclusion, promotion of trade, tourism and investment, security and defense, as well as sustainable development of mining and energy.

They will also discuss sustainable environmental management and strengthening air, land, river and sea transport.

Presidents Dina Boluarte and Daniel Noboa are leading today in Lima the Presidential Meeting and the XV Binational Cabinet Peru-Ecuador.

The presidents will hold a meeting at the palace, and at the same time the binational cabinet will meet, and in the afternoon the meeting will be closed with speeches by the two presidents.

In conclusion, Boluarte and Noboa will sign a joint declaration and the labor ministers of both countries will sign a bilateral cooperation agreement.

This was preceded by the XVI meeting of the Peru-Ecuador Neighborhood Commission, which approved the Lima 2024 Action Plan, containing work commitments, actions and binational cooperation projects for the period 2024-2025, reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The plan includes 49 commitments on people’s rights, infrastructure and connectivity, security and defense, production, trade, investment and tourism, environment, energy, mining, social and cultural issues.
