BRS chief Praveen Kumar questions Bhatti's silence on SI's suicide attempt

Kothagudem: BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar has taken exception to Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka’s failure to respond to Aswaraopet Sriramula Srinivas’ suicide attempt.

In a message posted on X, he said that the IS was on life support in the intensive care unit and wanted to say something but was unable to speak. The IS’s miserable state was reminiscent of the generational oppression of the poor.

Praveen Kumar noted that as per the information available to him till Thursday morning, no case had been registered against the accused under BNS 108 and SC/ST Atrocities Act. If the CI accused was attached to the IGP office, would everyone forget the tragedy, he asked.

Vikramarka, which responded to the death of farmer B Prabhakar Chowdhary, remained silent on the suicide attempt of SI belonging to an oppressed community and was discriminated against, he pointed out.

This is how the Congress government deals with cases where people from marginalised sections end up facing discrimination and oppression, he added.
