Meet Star Tom Cruise’s Secret Siblings, One of Who ‘Leads Scientology Classes’

Tom Cruise is one of the world’s most famous actors, becoming a prolific face on movie screens since his star exploded in the early 1980s.

Although he is one of the most photographed faces in Hollywood, very little is known about his personal life, especially his relationships with his family.

His father, branded a “tyrant and a coward” by the multi-millionaire, left his mother in the 1970s, with Tom quickly assuming the role of man of the house, caring for his three sisters.

The bond between the siblings has thus been strengthened, with Tom even declaring a few years ago: “I would live with all my sisters if I could. We have always been very close, my sisters and I.”

And now it seems that dream has come true, as his family has reportedly moved into a luxurious Scientology building in Florida, just steps from the church’s world headquarters.

Tom Cruise appeared to be in good spirits on his 62nd birthday earlier this week as he boarded a helicopter at London’s Battersea Heliport.

Tom’s other sister, Cass Capazorio (pictured), is the director of a company which The Sun claims is involved in running Scientology courses.

Despite their close relationship, the star has rarely been seen with her sisters in public, perhaps because her siblings have taken very different paths from the Oscar winner.

Sharing Tom’s fervent belief in the Church of Scientology, his sister Cass Capazorio is the director of a company that helps run classes on the religion, sometimes referred to as a cult, which originated in America in the 1950s.

Her other sister, Lee Anne Gillotte, is a former publicist who now works in management of the luxury Skyview building where the quartet lives and is treasurer of the Skyview Condominium Association Inc.

According to The Sun, his third sister Marian Henry, son Cal and daughter-in-law Marjorye are also all Scientologists.

His brother-in-law Greg, who is married to Cass, is also said to run another business that helps rehabilitate prisoners using Scientology techniques.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Tom remained close to his siblings after devoting much of his youth to helping raise his sisters as they endured a difficult childhood at the hands of their abusive father Thomas Cruise Mapother III.

Reflecting on the abuse he suffered at the hands of his father in a 2006 interview with Parade magazine, he said that Thomas “was a tyrant and a coward… the kind of person who, if something goes wrong, kicks you.”

“It was a great life lesson: the way he would cradle you, make you feel safe and then, bang,” he added.

“To me, there’s something wrong with this guy. Don’t trust him. Be careful with him. There’s this anxiety.”

On the other hand, he describes his mother Mary Lee with love and care, calling her “a very warm, charismatic, very kind, very generous woman.”

At age 11, Tom and his family moved to Kentucky after his mother separated from Thomas in 1974.

Following the separation, his mother was forced to work three jobs to support her four children, dependent on her caring and reliable son who began working himself.

The superstar made morning newspaper rounds, mowed neighbors’ lawns and even did cleaning jobs to help keep his family afloat.

One of his neighbors, Bill Lewis, had already revealed: “No job was too dirty or too difficult for Tommy, as long as he got paid to help his mother.”

Lewis added that even when his mother slipped him a floppy disk down his back because of all that work, the star reportedly told her, “My mother could have sat there every morning and cried and cried.

“She didn’t. My mother was very proud. She had dignity. She’s going to work hard.”

In light of her injury, one of Mary’s friends had to move in with them to help with their workload while the family also lived on food stamps for a time.

John later divorced Mary in 2012 and he died in 2015 at the age of 89 after a battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, while Mary died in 2017.

She later moved to New Jersey and married John “Jack” South in 1978, when Tom was 16.

Both Mary and her husband supported Tom’s dream of becoming an actor.

Mary had previously explained how he told them of his ambitions after starring in a high school production of Guys And Dolls.

She said: “After the show, Tom came home and said he wanted to chat with my husband and me.

“He asked me for 10 years to try my luck in show business. Meanwhile, my husband was wondering, ‘What’s it going to cost me? Ten years of what?’

“Tom said, ‘I really feel like this is what I want to do.’

“And we both totally agreed, because we both thought it was a God-given talent, and he should explore it because he was so enthusiastic about it.

“Long story short, we gave him our blessing and the rest is history.”
