City of Salmon Arm to host silent auction of unclaimed property in mid-July – Salmon Arm News

The City of Salmon Arm will hold a silent auction in mid-July to dispose of unclaimed stolen property that has been transferred into the city’s possession.

At its last regular council meeting on June 24, the council approved the silent auction, which will be hosted by the public works department. The two-day silent auction has since been scheduled for July 16-17.

The auction will include four years of unclaimed property, as well as surplus materials and equipment from the Public Works Department.

A full list of the items with photos is available now on the City of Salmon Arm website, and they will also be on display at City Hall, located at 500 Second Ave. NE.

Items up for auction include sports equipment, lawn mowers, brush cutters, tires, bicycles, generators and much more.

Bids will be open July 16-17 between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Public Works Yard, located at 100 30 St. SE.

All offers must be made in person, the city will not accept any offers by mail or email.

The city encourages residents looking for lost or stolen items to carefully check the auction inventory.

If residents see items that belong to them, they should report it to (email protected). Individuals must provide their full name, a phone number, a detailed description of the item, and proof of ownership and the associated lot number.

Then, city staff or an RCMP representative will contact residents to guide them through the next steps in the process.

Items that are verified to be owned will be immediately removed from the auction.
