Youth Congress blocks railway to demand Pradhan’s resignation, cancellation of NEET

Jaipur, July 4 (UNI) Youth Congress activists on Thursday staged a railway blockade agitation in various parts of Rajasthan demanding cancellation of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET-UG) 2024 and resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

A large number of Youth Congress workers took part in the protests that took place at railway stations in the state capital, as well as in Ajmir and Kota, among other places.

YC activists gathered at Gandhi Nagar railway station, carrying placards and chanting slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pradhan. They demanded that Pradhan file his papers regarding the alleged irregularities in the conduct of the NEET-UG exam.

In Ajmir, YC workers marched from Indira Gandhi Memorial to Station Road, shouting slogans against the Modi government.

They held placards with Pradhan’s pictures and read, “Resign, Leak Minister”. When the protesters moved away from the main road towards the railway station to stop the train, they were confronted by police forces.

After heated exchanges, all the protesters took part in a sit-in.

When they tried to enter the station premises, the police forces erected a barricade and denied entry to anyone. Later, the police took everyone away in vans.

Earlier, state Youth Congress vice-president Rakesh Meena said, “Irregularities in the NEET exam, injustice to students and mark-rigging in the exam will not be tolerated. The movement will continue.” He demanded cancellation of recognition of the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET. UNI XC SY SSP
