5-Star Receiver Dakorien Moore Announces Commitment to Oregon Ducks with Smoke Bomb

The nation’s No. 1 receiver, Dakorien Moore, is already turning heads. Moore announced in style his commitment to the Oregon Ducks over the Texas Longhorns, LSU Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes.

During her Instagram Live, Moore threw a smoke bomb, similar to a gender reveal, that sent green and yellow smoke into the air as Moore shouted, “We’re taking it to the West Coast!”

Oregon coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks made history by bringing in the program’s top-rated recruit in five-star receiver Moore from Duncanville (TX).

Texas was the heavy favorite to land Moore, with an 89.4 percent confidence rating to land the five-star prospect according to the On3 recruiting prediction machine.

Oregon running backs coach Ra’Shaad Samples’ father is Moore’s head coach at Duncanville (TX) High School.

Moore said the most important thing in his decision was confidence in the coaching staff.

Moore has been a member of Duncanville’s varsity team since his freshman season in 2021, accumulating 130 receptions for 2,653 yards and 29 touchdowns during that span, including 71 receptions for 1,523 yards and 18 scores during his junior campaign.

At 5-foot-11 and 186 pounds, Moore is currently a consensus five-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 3 player nationally, the No. 1 receiver and the No. 1 player in the state of Texas.

Oregon recruiting had an extremely successful month of June and the team is now considered the hottest team in the country on the recruiting trail right now.

Oregon coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks picked up six commitments in June. The Ducks picked up commitments from five-star recruits Jordon Davison and Dorian Brew, as well as four-star prospects Josiah Sharma and Dashaan Brame.

The Ducks’ 2025 recruiting class skyrocketed to No. 3 in the On3 national recruiting rankings with the commitment of Dakorien Moore, behind only Ohio State and Alabama.
