Prime Minister shocked by death of Grandmaster Ziaur

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed shock and sadness over the death of the country’s renowned Grand Master Ziaur Rahman.

She prayed for the eternal salvation of the deceased’s soul and expressed her sympathy to the bereaved family, the prime minister’s press service said on Friday evening.

Ziaur Rahman died while playing the 12th round match of the ongoing National Chess Championship 2024 in the capital on Friday afternoon.
