“Back2School” Distributes School Supplies to Low-Income Students in Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Summer is in full swing, but the next school year is just around the corner and it’s never too early to start picking up the supplies your child needs to succeed.

If you or someone you know needs help getting school supplies, Back2School distributes free socks, shoes, and a backpack full of school supplies at events and on their premises. Additionally, many of these locations provide basic necessities for kids, including free haircuts and a closet full of great back-to-school clothes.

Pulaski County High School Kicks Off Free Football Camp This Summer

The nonprofit organization helps children and families in need from kindergarten through 12th grade. Over the past 18 years, Back2School has helped more than 38,000 children on-site and at scheduled events.

Interested families can register online or in person on Saturday, July 13 from 9 a.m. to noon and Tuesday, July 23.rd 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The organization says it relies on donations to provide supplies to children, with kits costing an average of $22 per child.
