Joe Biden bills himself as ‘first black woman’ in awkward gaffe

This is yet another media appearance and gaffe for US President Joe Biden, who this time presents himself as the “first black woman to serve with a black president.”

Following Biden’s performance against Republican Donald Trump in the first televised presidential debate of 2024 ahead of the US election in November, some have called for him to step down and for someone else to run as a Democrat.

Those calls appear to have grown stronger after another confusing media appearance by Biden, this time during an interview with Philadelphia radio station WURD.

The 81-year-old appears to have become embroiled in a heated argument with Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, the first black woman to serve with a black president,” he stumbled.

“I’m proud of the… first black woman on the Supreme Court. There’s so much we can do because together we can, there’s nothing… Look, this is the United States of America.”

Biden appeared to be referring to his own nomination of Kamala Harris as the first black female vice president of the United States.

He himself served as vice president, from 2009 to 2017, under Barack Obama, which he appears to be referring to when he talks about serving “with a black president.”

As for the Supreme Court reference, it was likely the first black female justice, Ketanji Brown-Jackson – who was also nominated by Biden…
