Man charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs after traffic stop in Irasburg

IRASBURG — Vermont State Troopers arrested a N Troy man on charges of driving while intoxicated and possession of cocaine following a traffic stop on VT 58 in Irasburg late Wednesday night.

At 11:19 p.m., police officers patrolling the area observed a vehicle driving erratically.

After conducting a traffic stop, they identified the driver as Matthew Manning, 44.

Manning showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody on suspicion of drug driving.

Further investigation revealed that Manning was driving with a criminally suspended driver’s license.

A search carried out during his arrest also revealed cocaine.

Manning was processed at the Vermont State Police Derby Barracks and later booked into the Northern State Correctional Facility for violating probation and parole conditions.
