Klay Thompson Posts Farewell Message to Golden State Warriors: ‘Until We Meet Again’

Half of the “Splash Brothers” are heading to Dallas.

New Dallas Maverick Klay Thompson posted a farewell message on Instagram to the Golden State Warriors on Friday afternoon, reflecting on his time in the Bay Area.

Thompson ended his message by saying, “Don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy that it happened. Until we meet again. Captain, over.”

On July 1, Thompson agreed to a three-year, $50 million contract with Dallas, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. ESPN reported that the multi-team sign-and-trade scenario would send Josh Green to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for two future second-round picks.

The sharpshooting wing was selected by the Warriors with the 11th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft after spending three years at Washington State University. Thompson won four NBA titles and was selected to five All-Star games during his 11 seasons with Golden State.
