GEMS shine at YMCA National Gymnastics Meet

OAKS, Pa. — The Green County Family YMCA is proud to announce the outstanding accomplishments of its 10 talented gymnasts who competed at the YMCA National Gymnastics Championship in Oaks, Pa., June 20-24.

More than 2,000 gymnasts from 100 teams from across the United States competed in the meet. Gymnasts from the YMCA GEMS Gymnastics Team were eligible to compete in the national meet based on scores from previous meets. Ten GEMS gymnasts competed in the meet, coached by Dawn Lederman, and won a total of 28 medals.

The following gymnasts received medals at the YMCA National Gymnastics Meet.

Level 3 Team Members

● Aubree Cook: 4th place on vault, 11th place on uneven bars, 6th place on beam, 9th place on floor, 7th place in the all-around competition

● Sydney Dunlavy: 3rd place on vault, 4th place on bars, 2nd place on beam, 11th place on floor, 2nd place in the all-around competition

● Mylie Jelle: 7th place on vault, 7th place on bars, 9th place on beam, 3rd place on floor, 6th place in the all-around competition

● Clara Lucas: 2nd place on vault, 2nd place on uneven bars, 7th place on floor, 6th place in the all-around competition

● Emily Menter: 2nd place on bars, 4th place on beam, 12th place on floor, 8th place in the all-around competition

Level 6 Team Members

● Jackson Kundert: 4th place on vault, 3rd place on beam, 7th place in the all-around competition

● Elliana Shank: 3rd place in the vault

Xcel Silver

● Evelyn Buholzer: 7th place on bars

Xcel Platinum Team Members

● Mads Josephs: 6th place on the beam

● Kiera Indergand

All members of the team are from Monroe, except Sydney Dunlavy, Emily Menter and Elliana Shank who are from Brodhead.
