Farah Khan recalls being offered Rs 10 crore by a producer for choosing her son to star in Shah Rukh Khan’s film Happy New Year

Farah Khan recently revealed that a producer offered her Rs 10 crore to cast her son in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer film, Good year (2014). However, she turned down the contract. She eventually chose Vivaan Shah for the role as she thought he was more suited to portray the character.

In a conversation with Zakir Khan for his own YouTube channel, Farah said: “You won’t believe this, but during Good year“A producer offered me Rs 10 crore to cast his son. As ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’, I said, ‘I will never do that.’ I will not do injustice to the film. What if Shah Rukh comes to know that I took Rs 10 crore to cast him in the film? I will never do that. I cast Vivaan Shah for the film because I thought I would cast the person who would be a perfect fit for the character and the film.”

The heist comedy film also starred Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah in pivotal roles. It was Farah’s fourth film as a director and marked her third collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan after Main Hoon Na (2004) and Om Shanti Om (2007). It was produced by Gauri Khan under the banner Red Chillies Entertainment.
