Home and Away character to be replaced in shocking death story

Home and Away’s Cash Newman is outraged next week when he finds out that Stevie Marlow will be replaced in his new film.

Cash is stunned by the lack of sensitivity of Stevie’s film bosses who take immediate action to save their romantic comedy project, All Our Tomorrows.

Stevie has been shooting the romantic film on location in Summer Bay over the past few weeks.

The project started well, but events took a shocking turn after Stevie’s stalker Sidney was released from prison. The dangerous villain headed straight to the Bay on a sinister mission to kill Stevie, sending shockwaves through the local community.

In Monday’s episode on Channel 5 (July 8), Stevie fights for her life after being shot by Sidney on the beach. She is rushed to hospital, where Levi Fowler and Bree Cameron fail to save her.

Next week, the repercussions are felt when Cash is fired by the security company he works for.

Cash was acting as Stevie’s bodyguard when the shooting took place, so there needs to be an official investigation to determine how things went so wrong.

Cash explains that no one told him Sidney was out on bail until it was too late, so there was little he could have done to save Stevie. Despite this, he blames himself for not protecting her.

Nelson Giles, who directed Stevie’s film, is also hungry for answers, but that’s not his only concern. Under pressure from his bosses, he tells Cash that he’s been instructed to recast Stevie to get the film back on track.

Cash is furious at this news, pointing out that it is insensitive to talk about replacing Stevie when she hasn’t even been buried yet.

Bree witnesses Cash’s outburst and suggests to her sister Felicity that they consider therapy.

Felicity brings up the subject when she finds Cash watching Stevie’s hit horror film Death Throes at home, but he stubbornly refuses to think about it.

Meanwhile, Nelson confides in Bree about his bosses’ bad behavior. He admits that he left All Our Tomorrows because of his superiors’ callous attitude toward Stevie’s role.

This means Nelson has little reason to stay in the Bay, so he plots a new project in Naples and prepares to leave.

Home and Away airs these scenes on Monday 15 July on Channel 5.
