What seemed to be a minor correction day turned out to be a day of consolidation in the markets. After a negative start, the Nifty 50 started on a lower note and formed its low in the first hour of the session. The index managed to recover during the day but slipped again in the second half. It continued to trade with modest losses. It was in the last half-an-hour of trading that the Nifty saw a sharp surge.
