Madison Keys’ coach and fiancé Bjorn Fratangelo was left red-faced after being caught picking his nose during her fourth-round match at Wimbledon.

As his other half took on Italy’s Jasmine Paolini on Sunday afternoon, ESPN’s television cameras panned to Fratangelo in the stands of Court One.

And to the horror of commentator Rennae Stubbs and the thousands of viewers watching the show, the former American tennis player turned coach committed a disgusting act.

For about 10 seconds, Fratangelo picked his nose with his thumb, and at one point even appeared to throw everything he could find on the ground.

“Get the camera off him while he picks his nose!” Stubbs exclaims, outraged.

A number of fans also rushed to X to criticize Fratangelo for his unhygienic actions in the crowd.

“Don’t pick your nose in public, especially when your wife is playing a game and there’s a good chance you’ll be on TV,” one wrote.

Another said: “ESPN cameras zoomed in on Bjorn Fratangelo as he picked his nose and scrolled through his findings. It’s Wimbledon, sir!”

While a third quoted a famous line from the 1980 film Elephant Man and joked: “Aren’t we human? If we sting, don’t we bleed?! I’m not an animal!!!” – Bjorn Fratangelo.

After losing the first set and coming back to win a tie-break in the second, Keys was eventually forced to retire in the crucial third set due to injury.

The 29-year-old American took a medical timeout after appearing to injure her left leg, before conceding she was unable to continue the match.

Six years later, the couple got engaged, although a wedding date may not be on the horizon just yet given their busy schedules.

“He actually did it at home,” Keys said of Fratangelo’s proposal. “The day I got back from Dubai, I didn’t expect it at all.”

“I was sitting on the couch and he said, ‘Hey, I have your birthday present.’ He handed me something and got down on one knee. I’m just sitting on the couch, so now we have to keep the couch forever.”
