Discovering the new Tiffany Blue Book collection in Hong Kong

Discovering the new Tiffany Blue Book collection in Hong Kong

Much excitement and publicity has always followed the Blue Book collections of the American jewelry brand Tiffany & Co., especially when a new edition debuts.

The book, named after Tiffany’s iconic robin’s egg hue, originated in 1845 as a mail-order catalog that brought luxury jewelry to American homes. Over the next few decades, it grew into an annual publication, showcasing Tiffany’s most exceptional and rare fine jewelry creations, akin to the fashion industry’s version of “haute couture.” Famous entries include the Tiffany Diamond, which at 128.54 carats remains one of the largest and most beautiful fancy yellow diamonds ever discovered, and Jean Schlumberger’s Bird on a Rock brooch.

This year’s Blue Book, titled Tiffany Céleste, and its accompanying fine jewelry collections, were designed by Nathalie Verdeille, the brand’s artistic director of jewelry and fine jewelry. Verdeille’s second book, it spans six distinct chapters: Wings, Arrow, Constellation, Iconic Star, Ray of Light, and Apollo. Céleste will launch in three phases throughout 2024, with a spring launch followed by summer and fall launches.

The Tiffany Céleste collection, Blue Book’s largest to date, features 157 high-priced pieces. According to Verdeille, Céleste is an ode to Schlumberger, the legendary jeweler who joined Tiffany & Co. in 1956 and became known for his fantastical, nature-inspired designs. Schlumberger was well-known for his vivid imagination and fascination with the mysteries of the universe.

“The Tiffany Blue Book collection tells the extraordinary story of our legendary craftsmanship with the world’s most exceptional diamonds and gemstones,” said Anthony Ledru, Chairman and CEO of Tiffany & Co. “Each piece in this collection embodies the genius and legacy of Jean Schlumberger, reimagined by Nathalie Verdeille.”

In the new Blue Book collection, the Wings theme symbolizes flight and fantasy and refers to Schlumberger’s famous creations featuring wing silhouettes, which Verdeille has transformed and reimagined into a luminous story rendered in diamonds and sapphires. The Ray of Light chapter is inspired by Schlumberger archives Brooches and red spinels mimic elusive rays of light and golden sunbeams. One of the most versatile designs in the Ray of Light collection is a necklace that doubles as a tiara, a style that has been absent from Tiffany Blue Book collections for several years.

This year, the first reveal of Tiffany Celeste took place at a prestigious event in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles in April, attended by many of Hollywood’s most prominent celebrities. Hong Kong then had the privilege of becoming the first stop after the launch in Los Angeles.

Among the many luminaries in attendance at the city’s event, held on June 6 at Sky 100, were actors Park Hyung Sik and Fala Chen, who turned heads by teaming their looks with stunning pieces from the Wings chapter. Chen shone in a diamond necklace, set in 18K yellow gold with a diamond pendant weighing over 20 carats, which she paired with diamond earrings, a bracelet, and a ring. Park embellished his immaculate look with an eye-catching 18K diamond brooch that can be converted into a pendant, while on his wrist, he wore the new Bird on a Flying Tourbillon watch. Breaking with a tradition of creating jewelry exclusively for women, the Tiffany Céleste collection includes pieces designed for men, with brooches that can be worn as pendants on women’s necklaces, which is Verdeille’s interpretation of a new way to capture his-and-hers moments of correspondence.

In another look, Chen wore an Iconic Star necklace adorned with a 41-carat blue zircon, aquamarines, pearls and diamonds, paired with a gemstone-encrusted ring. She completed her look with a Bird on a Rock watch, which featured a plethora of gemstones. Park, meanwhile, sported two Bird on a Rock brooches, depicting bejeweled “feathered friends” perched atop exquisite gemstones.
