Young MCA Announces Ted Eastaugh as New President

Young MCA has appointed a new chairman as it looks to expand throughout 2024. AtkinsRéalis consultant Ted Eastaugh will take on the role following a handover period in the autumn.

The MCA (MCA) is the representative body for the UK consultancy sector. It is dedicated to defending the interests of its members and promoting the value of consultancy to the private and public sectors. In addition to this broader remit, the MCA also supports a number of specialist sub-groups, which provide best practice and networking experiences for its members. One such sub-group is the Young MCA.

Young MCA aims to mobilise and develop the young consulting community, whilst shaping the future of the sector at a crucial time for the UK economy. The organisation has appointed a new chair. AtkinsRéalis has been announced as the successor to Emily Ireland-Jones of IBM Consulting, as Young MCA continues to grow with more young consultants joining the profession.

President-elect Eastaugh said, “As the new president of Young MCA, I feel privileged to represent our young consulting community. I am committed to building on the foundation that Young MCA has established to further elevate and promote our profession.”

Eastaugh joined professional services and project management firm AtkinsRéalis in 2023. Having joined as a graduate consultant in its consulting and business advisory practice, he is now the early career professional lead for AtkinsRéalis’ aerospace and defence team. Eastaugh is also progressing towards his own accreditation as an Associate Chartered Management Consultant (ChMC).

He added: “Recognising the ChMC accreditation as a model of excellence within our sector, I am committed to extending its reach and benefits to young consultants across the sector and look forward to engaging more closely with the organisation and our members to ensure the success of young consultants.”

Young MCA has announced the appointment of Ted Eastaugh as the new President-Elect of Young MCA, a professional network for consultants starting a career in management consultancy. The appointment comes as Young MCA continues to grow with more young consultants joining the professional network thanks to the expansion of the MCA to over 90 leading consultancies. The network, supported by the Management Consultancies Association (MCA), runs face-to-face events across the UK as well as workshops with guest speakers focusing on communication, leadership skills, diversity and inclusion throughout the year. Recent event themes have included masterclasses on public speaking and using Linkedin to boost your network, the benefits of mentors and sponsors, and events with inspiring leaders from across the consultancy sector.

As the voice of young consultants in the UK, the Young MCA aims to mobilise and develop the young consultant community, whilst shaping the future of the sector. Its Executive Committee is led by a Chair, who also sits on the MCA’s main Board, with a team of volunteer Vice-Chairs leading various workstreams. Eastaugh will take up the role in the third quarter of the year, having completed a handover period from current incumbent Ireland Jones.

Tamzen Isacsson, CEO of the MCA, added: “A huge thank you to Emily Ireland Jones of IBM Consulting for her brilliant impact in this role over the last two years and for being an excellent ambassador for the sector and the new Chartered Management Consultant accreditation. I look forward to working with Ted and the entire Young MCA Council on the Young MCA’s range of activities in 2024, as we promote the exciting career paths in consulting and provide essential tools and guidance to consultants throughout their journey in the profession.”
