The balcony of an apartment in the heart of Sydney was being offered for rent as a “room” for the astonishing price of 360 Australian dollars per week (more than ₹81,000 per month), which shook the Internet.

An ad posted on Facebook Marketplace earlier this month offered a “room” to rent in Haymarket, in the central business district of Sydney, Australia’s largest city.

In the ad, the balcony is described as a “sunny room” that can accommodate one person.

The images show the room to be an enclosed, tiled space, equipped with amenities such as blinds, a few rugs, a mirror, a single bed and a chest of drawers.

The sliding doors of the room were transparent. They connect the room to the rest of the property.

The advertiser wrote: “Share the bathroom with only one person.”
