4-H members prepare their animals for the Vigo County Fair

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Vigo County Fair is currently underway at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds and offers 4-H members the opportunity to show off their animals.

Due to the high temperatures this summer, 4-H members are keeping animals cool by hydrating them and washing them with cool water. Fans are also being installed in the barns.

“Our 4-H members are trained. They’ve been trained on how to best keep our animals cool, how to handle them so they’re ready to come to fair week, and they’re all here to have a good time and show off all the work they’ve put in throughout the year,” said Sara Haag, 4-H educator.

There are 4-H events throughout the week, one of their biggest events being the Round Robin contest on Thursday night.

The Vigo County Fair runs until July 13. You can find out more about the fair here
