Hollyoaks’ Abe Fielding to be caught red-handed in Arlo storyline

Abe Fielding will be caught out for lying about his younger brother Arlo in Hollyoaks.

Last month, it was revealed that Abe lied about his brother Arlo’s whereabouts, leading his mother Marie to believe the boy had been kidnapped while staying with his father.

Arlo has since reappeared in Chester, though Abe has so far managed to keep the truth about his involvement in the boy’s disappearance from coming out.

In scenes airing next week, Arlo has an appointment with a social worker and while everything seems to be going well, a mysterious phone call reveals he might be hiding something.

Marie is busy planning a birthday party for Arlo at the Lomaxes. Arlo ends up running away after receiving text messages from his father and being disappointed by Marie’s birthday present.

Viewers will see Arlo’s mother-in-law reappear to bring him the tablet he’s been asking for. Marie then examines the device, where she finds a photo that reveals a massive family betrayal.

Marie questions Arlo about the photo, and her son finally reveals Abe’s role in her disappearance. She is devastated to learn that Abe told his brother that Marie didn’t want to take care of him.

This revelation sends Marie into a downward spiral and she relapses. Abe takes time off work to help comfort Marie, as she admits she is now questioning her ability to be a mother.

Cleo steps in to try to make peace with Mary after their recent arguments, but she is completely rejected by Abe’s mother.

Marie later feels bad and urges Abe to reconcile with the McQueens on her behalf. Abe tries to smooth things over and eventually wins the McQueens over to his cause.

Will Abe face a backlash over his mother’s shocking discovery?

Hollyoaks oaks first released online via Channel 4 every weekday at 7:30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before premiering on YouTube a week later.
