BLACKPINK’s Jennie was recently spotted smoking in a video that was briefly shared online before being deleted. Her agency, ODD ATELIER, commented on the incident.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie Caught Smoking

BLACKPINK’s Jennie was recently spotted using an e-cigarette indoors. Fans noticed her with a vape or e-cigarette in one of her vlogs, where she was shown holding a dark-colored device to her lips while getting her hair and makeup done. In the next scene, she exhales smoke. However, this footage has since been deleted from her vlog.

Although Jennie is an adult and therefore not breaking the law by smoking, many people pointed out that she was doing it indoors. Smoking indoors is often banned in South Korea and many other countries, including Capri, Italy, where she was at the time. Many netizens also noted that she was smoking in front of her staff, which sparked further criticism online.

Smoking indoors, whether it’s with a vape or a traditional cigarette, is taken seriously by the law. NCT’s Haechan was previously fined for vaping indoors in South Korea. In Jennie’s case, some fans defended her by suggesting that it was a diffuser and not a vape. Many fans claimed that Jennie had used a diffuser due to breathing issues and attempted to clarify the situation by sharing a similar-looking product.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s Agency Shares Statement

BLACKPINK’s agency has released its first comment on the controversy surrounding Jennie’s indoor smoking. ODD ATELIER, the agency that manages Jennie’s solo activities, stated in a statement provided to news outlet Newsen that it is currently looking into the controversy surrounding Jennie’s indoor smoking.

In their statement, ODD ATELIER mentioned that since Jennie is currently in the United States, they are verifying the facts regarding the controversy.
