Chaffee BoCC to consider special event permit application for Meadows Farm – by Jan Wondra

The Chaffee County Board of Commissioners (BoCC) will meet in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room at 104 Crestone Avenue in Salida. The regular agenda includes some important items, including the resolution 2024-03 (Notification of Approval of Colorado State License Application), approving the rrenewal of ambulance service licenses and vehicle permits for Chaffee County EMS.

The next item on the BoCC agenda will be the coReview of a special event permit application for aconcert at Meadows Farm. The applicant, South Main Arts and Parks Trust (application process initiated by Meadow Creek Music LLC) is applying for a June 26-29, 2025 event. The proposed crowd size is 10,000 attendees plus 600 staff.

BoCC to hear appeal fromPlanning Commission Decision on Preliminary Plan for Trilogy Harvard Major Subdivision. The request is addressed to aconditions of appeal for approval no. 1 (building setbacks) and no. 4 (open spaces) of the urban plan Commission Notice of Decision, Receipt No. 493344, Chaffee County Records. The subdivision is proposed for vadjacent parcels 316324200089 and 316324200045 at the entrance to the Mount Harvard Valley Subdivision under development.

Convened as the Chaffee County Board of Equalization, the board will hear a report regarding thethe total estimated value of all taxable property and submit a list of all real and personal property property protests, the status/outcome of each protest, a list of mobile equipment allocations and a list owners who have not returned a personal property declaration.

During its meeting, the BoCC will also review and approve several contracts, including:

  • A one-year, $26,916 contract with Emma Software for the Chaffee County Visitors Bureau,
  • Consider Approving an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) to House Lake County Inmates at the Chaffee County Detention Center
  • San Luis Valley EMS Mutual Aid Agreement Approved
  • Consider approving the second amendment extending the medical service contract by one year
    Turnkey detention center
  • Consider approving a Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) grant to the Boys and Girls Club for Youth Services
