Silent Yachts to present the Silent 62 3-Deck at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024

Silent Yachts to present the Silent 62 3-Deck at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024

Silent Yachts will unveil the Silent 62 3-Deck at the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival, scheduled for September 10-15. This new 100% electric catamaran, designed for silent and emission-free sailing, will be available in Open and Closed versions.

Visitors will be able to discover the Silent 62 3-Deck Open version, optimized for outdoor living with a spacious flybridge designed for dining and relaxation. This model highlights the versatility of the Silent 62 design. Silent Yachts will be located at Vieux Port QML 178, with catamaran tours at QML 009.

The closed version of the Silent 62 3-Deck offers an enclosed upper deck, providing additional interior space. Both versions feature a 50 m² main deck saloon with large windows, a fully equipped galley and a dining area, creating a bright and open living environment. The exterior main deck extends over 80 m², including an aft cockpit for al fresco dining and a foredeck saloon with panoramic views.

The Silent 62 3-Deck incorporates Silent Yachts’ efficient catamaran hull and an innovative solar-electric drive system. The drive system, equipped with liquid-cooled batteries, ensures higher energy density, greater capacity and faster charging rates. A 16.8 kWp solar panel, two 180 kW electric motors and a 286 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, with a 145 kW industry-leading range extender, provide a cruising speed of 6 to 8 knots and a transoceanic range.

The yacht, with a draft of 1.24 metres, can accommodate 4 to 6 guest cabins and six bathrooms. The 60 m² third deck is available in three configurations: open-air saloon, enclosed saloon or enclosed owner’s suite, all with a ‘forward exit’ on the main deck for direct access to the foredeck from the main saloon.

The official press presentation will take place on September 10 at 4:30 p.m. on board the Silent 62 3-Deck at the Vieux Port, QML 009.

Silent-Yachts produces the world’s first fully autonomous ocean-going catamarans. They are powered exclusively by solar energy and are capable of sailing up to 100 miles per day. In 2009, founders Heike and Michael Köhler, who spent 6,000 days sailing over 75,000 miles around the world, launched the Solarwave 46, the world’s first fully autonomous ocean-going catamaran after years of testing solar-powered propulsion, and they have been building boats ever since.
