The Los Angeles Chargers’ social media team is known for trolling opponents and attempting to create viral content, but Davante Adams would prefer not to be the subject of those shenanigans in the future.

When the NFL schedule was released in May, the Chargers ran a series of X-rated posts comparing some of their 2024 opponents to fictional Pop Tart flavors. Some of the photoshopped images were clever shots of the teams they’ll face, while others were more geared toward specific players. For example, Joe Burrow was shown next to a box of Skyline Chili-flavored Pop Tarts.

Adams was pictured next to a box of trash-flavored Pop Tarts sitting on a pile of garbage.

The “trash can” reference was almost certainly directed at the Las Vegas Raiders, not Adams himself. Adams took it personally, though. During an appearance on “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams on Tuesday, the All-Pro receiver had a strong message for the Chargers’ social media team.

“My first game against them, they clearly forgot that I had 10 receptions and 141 yards and a touchdown. And then the next time, the same year, I had 177 yards and two touchdowns, I think it was because of that game,” Adams recalled. “So I wanted to remind them of what they went through playing against me. I hope that the people who posted that message, because it’s not the players’ fault, they have nothing to do with it, this is strictly for the Chargers social media page — please don’t mention my name and shut it down.”

Adams has certainly set the Chargers on fire in the past. In four games against LA since joining the Raiders, Adams has 34 receptions for 494 yards and four touchdowns.

The Chargers already hilariously trolled their opponents during the schedule reveal, but Adams didn’t seem to appreciate the humor. He’ll likely take it out on his division rival next season.
