Crusher in Tushar cancelled due to forest fires

Life Time has been forced to cancel its Crusher in the Tushar gravel race due to wildfires in the Beaver, Utah area. The third race of the Life Time Grand Prix presented by Mazda, the event was scheduled for Saturday, July 13.

A statement from Life Time provided more details.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of this year’s Life Time Crusher at Tushar, scheduled for Saturday, July 13, due to the ongoing Silver King and Little Twist wildfires in the Piute County area, which is home to more than half of the Crusher course, as well as the extreme fire risk from record-breaking hot and dry temperatures.

We made this difficult decision after:

  • Evaluate and consult a number of local resources
  • With respect to the local emergency services teams, who are working hard to protect their communities
  • With regard to the risk of extremely poor air quality, the safety of our athletes, volunteers, partners and community, as well as the proper use of emergency services, are our top priorities.

The Life Time Grand Prix will now follow a best-of-four-out-of-six format, allowing athletes to count their four best performances from across the six scheduled events.

Although all Life Time Grand Prix athletes have received complimentary tickets, we are offering the following options to all registered amateur participants:

  • 40% Refund of Registration Fee: In accordance with our event cancellation policy, we will process a partial refund of all registration fees.
  • Free Delayed Entry: Reserve your spot for next year’s Crusher in the Tushar at no extra cost.
  • Donate Your Registration Fee: Contribute 100% of your registration fee to Beaver County Search and Rescue and Piute County S&R, helping them continue their critical volunteer work during these emergencies.
  • If you donate your registration fee, you will receive a guaranteed, non-free entry to Crusher 2025 in Tushar. Life Time will donate the entry on your behalf.

All registered participants can let us know their preferred registration options before July 17 by completing the form in their email.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. We and the Beaver community look forward to welcoming you back to the Crusher in Tushar in 2025, under safer and more supportive conditions. Please join us in sending positive thoughts to the impacted communities.
