Morgantown-area Steak ‘n Shake restaurant announces opening date

STAR CITY, W.Va. (WBOY) — The highly anticipated Star City Steak ‘n Shake has finally announced its opening date: Monday, July 22.

Steak ‘n Shake will be located at 3516 Monongahela Blvd., directly across from the former Texas Roadhouse, which itself is being transformed into a new location for Mountain State Brewing Co.

This particular Steak ‘n Shake location has been in the works since at least 2019 according to an interview with a Star City building code official in 2022. Plans for the location resumed around the same time Texas Roadhouse announced it would be moving to a new location in Westover.

Franchise owner Ismail Latif told 12 News that the grand opening of Star City Steak ‘n Shake will take place at 9:30 a.m. on July 22.
