‘I’m going to shoot you’ – Chad Irish caught on camera threatening to kill Yazmeen Williams, police say

NEW YORKAuthorities say Chad Irish, the man accused of killing Yazmeen Williams, was caught on camera threatening to shoot the 31-year-old woman just days before she was found dead in a sleeping bag in Kips Bay last week.

Prosecutors say Irish shot Williams in the head before using his motorized wheelchair and a cart to move his body away.

“I didn’t do it. I didn’t hurt anyone.” Chad Irish

Her remains were discovered next to trash bags in a NYCHA complex on East 27th Street and 2nd Avenue.

Irish, who has a long criminal record, has maintained his innocence.

“I didn’t do anything,” Irish told reporters as he left the 13th Precinct in Gramercy Park on Wednesday. “I didn’t hurt anybody.”

He was arrested on Monday and as police took him into custody, angry community members confronted him, hitting and shouting.

Timeline of William’s death

At a court hearing Thursday, prosecutors provided a detailed timeline leading to Williams’ death:

  • June 26: Surveillance footage shows an argument between Irish and Williams in the hallway of their apartment building. Irish can be heard threatening Williams, saying, “I’m going to shoot you.”

  • June 30th : In surveillance video, Williams is seen carrying a trash bag to the trash chute in the same hallway. That is the last time she is seen on video.

  • 1st of July: Around 1:30 a.m., another woman is seen arriving at the apartment with a large plastic bag and cleaning supplies, which she hands to Irish at the door.

  • July the 5th : Surveillance video allegedly captured Irish in his wheelchair, pulling a sleeping bag on a cart.

Investigators say that while searching Irish’s apartment, they found bullets of three different calibers.

Prosecutors also revealed that Irish was involved in another case where he allegedly used a gun to threaten a man shortly after Williams’ murder.

According to authorities, Irish has six previous convictions for serious crimes, including five for violence and 11 for minor offenses. He remains in custody.
