Savannah Bananas surprises 8-year-old fan battling cancer

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The Savannah Bananas surprised an 8-year-old boy, who is battling a rare form of cancer, with free tickets to their Saturday night game against the Firefighters.

The game is part of their World Tour, which makes its stop in Washington DC this weekend.

Clyde Hicks is a huge baseball fan, but he is currently battling cancer in his spine and brain as a result of a rare genetic condition.

Hicks refused to let his diagnosis get in the way of playing baseball.

He made a special appearance in his Little League team championship game recently.
