Alec Baldwin breaks silence with emotional message after Rust firing | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Baldwin’s lawyers have claimed that the bullets used by the prosecution as evidence were “concealed and buried” in another file.

The prosecution argued that the bullets in question were harmless, but Baldwin’s defense attorneys insisted that was not their decision.

Speaking outside court, defence lawyer Luke Nikas told the judge: “If this evidence wasn’t as important as we’re saying, they would have turned it over.

“The fact that they hid it, the fact that they put it in a separate document, they didn’t disclose an additional report, they didn’t disclose the bullets, they didn’t bring them to the April 6th evidence meeting. If it was so irrelevant, if it had no probative value, it would have been there.”

“There is no way for the court to correct this error,” Judge Sommer said, adding that it was a “very extreme sanction” but that the threshold had been met.

Gutierrez-Reed had loaded the gun that killed Hutchins with live ammunition.

Today, Gutierrez-Reed’s lawyer is making the same argument and hopes to free her.

“The judge found willful misconduct and we found the same failures in Hannah’s case as well, on the part of the state. We’re going to move to dismiss Hannah’s case,” attorney Jason Bowles said.
