San Antonio dentist offering free checkups, school supplies next week

A San Antonio dental office is offering free checkups and school supplies next week to help prepare families for the new school year.

On Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., children and their parents will be able to receive free exams, x-rays and braces consultations at Risas Dental, located at 7895 Culebra Road. Children under 18 will also receive a backpack filled with school supplies while supplies last.

“This is important for families in the community who need help managing their health care while preparing for the upcoming school year,” the firm said in a statement.

In fact, more than 18% of San Antonio residents did not have health insurance in 2022, according to data from the American Community Survey.
