Meet LPGA’s Stephanie Kyriacou: Personal Life, Support Network and Other Details Explored

Few people knew about the presence of a 19-year-old golfer at the 2020 Australian Ladies Classic. Her amateur status only added to her anonymity. However, at the end of the tournament, golfer Stephanie Kyriacou was able to secure an eight-shot victory in the opening event of the Ladies European Tour. Since then, she has managed to turn heads on numerous occasions in the golf world, creating intrigue around her.

Stéphanie Kyriacou’s father introduced her to golf

The golfer was born on November 22, 2000, to Nick Kyriacou and Angele Hakim Kyriacou. Her father was an amateur golfer himself, and it was he who introduced her to the sport at the age of four, along with her older sister Eleena. Growing up, the Australian athlete became so passionate about golf that she decided to make it a career. And her father? He was even there to support her on the course as a caddie in 2020, when she was making a big impression on the European Tour.

Her rookie year was nothing short of incredible, despite the complicated COVID-19 restrictions. She emerged victorious at the 2020 Geoff King Motors Australian Ladies Classic at Bonville as an amateur golfer. Additionally, Kyriacou’s victory made her the 10th golfer to do so on the Ladies European Tour, after which she decided to turn professional.

It wasn’t the first time she raised her head in triumph at an amateur event. Interestingly, the golfer’s victories include the 2017 and 2019 Port Philip Open Amateur, the 2018 Victorian Women’s Amateur, the Australian Master of the Amateurs and the Queensland Amateur Championship, both in 2019. All of this was just a prelude to what was to come after the athlete turned professional in 2020, in addition to her two LET victories.

Kyriacou’s Journey to the LPGA Tour and Her Accomplishments

In 2021, the golfer managed to finish T16 in the Q-series to earn a Tour membership for herself for the following year. In the season that followed, the golfer recorded two top-10 finishes from 21 starts, including a T7 at a major championship, the AIG Women’s Open. Additionally, Kyriacou was also able to collect a total of $483,135 in prize money from the various events.

In 2023, the professional golfer managed to break her own record by earning $538,690 in 21 starts, while finishing in the top 10 three times. Furthermore, she was even selected to represent her country, Australia, at the Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown, where she defeated Atthyaya Thitikul 4&2 to help her team claim victory. This gave Kyriacou her first international crown at the age of 23. While she boasts of such feats, it’s not as if the golfer is constantly indulging in the world of golf all by herself.

said a delighted Kyriacou when asked what she would do when she was not playing golf. The athlete also mentioned how she “Always go to the Sushi Train” on the beach every time she went there. This is no surprise, considering her favorite food is sushi itself.

That’s not all. The golfer did not hesitate to express her admiration for Rory McIlroy when asked who her favorite player in the sport was. However, when asked who the most inspiring athlete or individual was, she replaced the Northern Irishman’s name with another legend, Muhammad Ali, due to the boxer’s popularity. “very good attitude.”
