Belal Muhammad Challenges Sean Strickland to Stop Being a ‘Troll’ and Accept David Goggins’ Challenge

Belal Muhammad wants Sean Strickland to put his money where his mouth is.

Last week, Strickland found himself in a verbal war with former Navy SEAL David Goggins. The fitness guru and ultramarathon runner challenged the former UFC middleweight champion to three days of training and three rounds of sparring.

It seemed like a solid deal, especially after all the crap Strickland had said about Navy SEALs not being able to keep up with him in the gym. However, “Tarzan” quickly backtracked, apologizing to Goggins and explaining that he was just “bored and angry” while waiting for his next UFC title fight.

On the other hand, Belal Muhammad, one of the top-ranked contenders in the welterweight division, believes Strickland showed the world exactly who he is by tucking his tail and running.

“I wouldn’t say it’s a conflict. That’s what Sean is, right? He’s a troll,” Muhammad told The Schmo. “Nobody cares what he says anymore because he doesn’t have the belt. So now he starts attacking all these other guys, people with more followers and stuff like that, just to get attention.”

“I knew what he was all along, he’s fake, he’s not the badass he claims to be, not the crazy guy he claims to be. He just does stuff for clout. I mean, if he’s a man, you challenged David Goggins, you did David Goggins training, we’ll see if you can go all the way. We’ll see how big your heart is” (h/t Sherdog).

Belal Muhammad moves closer to first UFC title fight

Muhammad will look to capitalize on his first UFC title fight on July 27 when he travels to Manchester for a main event clash with reigning welterweight world champion Leon Edwards. This fight has been long-awaited by “Remember The Name,” who is sitting on a nine-fight winning streak, his last victory coming in May 2023 against Gilbert Burns.

In December, “Rocky” successfully defended his title for the second time with a decision victory over Colby Covington at UFC 296.

Edwards and Muhammad previously met at a Fight Night event in 2021, but the fight ended 18 seconds into the second round when Edwards inadvertently punched “Bully B” in the eye. When he couldn’t continue, the fight was declared a no-contest.

More than three years later, they would meet again to headline UFC 304 with the 170-pound crown on the line.
