The Southeastern Conference will begin a new era in the 2024 football season with no shortage of talent, but two familiar programs set the tone for USA TODAY Sports Network’s 2024 preseason All-SEC team.

Alabama and Georgia have nine All-SEC players. The Crimson Tide leads the way with five players thanks to two special teams selections.

Ole Miss and Kentucky each have three, while LSU and SEC newcomer Oklahoma can claim two each.

Four selections were unanimous: Missouri receiver Luther Burden III, Tennessee defensive lineman James Pearce Jr., LSU linebacker Harold Perkins and Georgia defensive end Malaki Starks. The panel of 13 journalists named Georgia coach Kirby Smart the SEC coach of the year, quarterback Carson Beck the SEC player of the year and Auburn receiver Cam Coleman the league’s top newcomer.
