Giorgi Mskhiladze: For the first time, Georgian President takes legal action to Constitutional Court

For the first time, the President of Georgia is filing a complaint with the Constitutional Court – with this complaint, the President demands the suspension of the law “On Transparency of Foreign Influence” and its final cancellation, – said the Parliamentary Secretary of the President of Georgia Giorgi Mskhiladze at the briefing.

According to him, the mentioned law is unconstitutional.

“For the first time, the President of Georgia has filed a complaint with the Constitutional Court. The complaint concerns the law on transparency of foreign influence, the so-called Russian law. This law is unconstitutional. It contradicts Article 78 of the Georgian Constitution. It also challenges a number of norms of the law that violate a number of fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution. With this complaint, the President demands the suspension of the mentioned law and its final cancellation,” said Mr. Mskhiladze.
