More than 242 pounds of suspected cocaine seized during traffic stop in Oldham County

VEGA, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that more than 242 pounds of suspected cocaine were found following a traffic stop in Oldham County on Saturday.

According to DPS, officers stopped a vehicle traveling east on I-40 near Vega for an alleged traffic violation on July 13. Officers said they found three large duffle bags containing 100 bricks of suspected cocaine wrapped in plastic in the cargo area of ​​the vehicle.


DPS said the driver of the vehicle was arrested and booked into the Randall County Jail for “possession of a controlled substance.”

The drugs were allegedly transported from Las Vegas to Boston.
