Harrison County Schools Offers Bus Service from Liberty to RCB

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — Ahead of Liberty High School’s scheduled closure in 2025, Harrison County Schools will provide transportation from Liberty to Robert C. Byrd High School for those who wish to transfer this year.

The Liberty High School Facebook page announced Monday that Harrison County Schools will provide a bus to take Liberty students to RCB and back if they want to start attending their new school before the merger goes into effect next year.

The message said students would take their regular bus route to Liberty, then board another bus to RCB around 7:40 a.m. Students would then return to Liberty around 2:25 p.m. A one-year physical education class will be offered between the afternoon drop-off at RCB and pick-up at Liberty, if needed.

To ensure that enough students will use the bus, parents are asked to come to Liberty from Wednesday, July 17 through Friday, July 19 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., or on July 17 and 18 between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., to complete transfer application paperwork.
